Job Market Prep Programme 25 September 2017
Are you a student and finishing your studies shortly or did you recently graduate at the Erasmus University? Do you want to prepare yourself well for your entry on the professional labour market? Do you think it’s wise to know more about the situation of the Dutch Job Market and about the chances to find a job that fits?
If so, it’s worth to participate in the Job Market Prep Programme that is offered by ERBS, The Erasmus Centre for Contract Research & Business Support. Note: the programme is in Dutch.
In the first place this programme offers an actual and sharp picture of the Dutch labour market, the demand in this market and the open vacancies. You learn how you can evaluate the attractiveness of vacancies and the recruiting organisations.
You will also find out how much time and how many applications it takes at the average to secure a job.
In the second place you are getting acquainted with selection instruments that are used by many organizations to judge the qualities of candidates. More and more organisations are using test results before inviting applicants for an interview.
Our trainers will help you to get a good picture of your competences, your strengths and weaknesses, your motivation, your allergies and the tasks and challenges that will contribute to a “flow-experience”.
In the third place you learn how you can best prepare for your dream job or your next best opportunity. You get suggestions on how to stand out by a better presentation of your qualities and a better communication with recruiting persons, once you are invited for an interview.
Finally, the programme offers insights in the way you can judge job offers and how you could negotiate for a better offer. This involves a critical look at the contract that is offered and the pay that is proposed. After starting in a job, the programme suggests how you can move fast through learning curves by investing in self development and how you can prepare for performance appraisal. And finally you will get suggestions for your next career steps inside or outside the organisation.
After this programme there is an opportunity, for those who appreciate this, to get individual feedback based on your profile, your c.v., your performance portfolio, your motivation, values, preferences and allergies. In case you wish so, contacts will be provided with recruiting companies.
Participation in this program is free of charge and takes place on September 25th 2017 in the Rotterdam Science Tower, 11th Floor, Marconistraat 16, Rotterdam from 19:00 till 21:00.
